The Born This Way Ball Costumes: Perry Meek for Lady Gaga

Posted on Monday, June 4, 2012

Welcome to the fourth chapter of our “The Born This Way Ball Costumes” series.

He’s been working with Gaga and the Haus for a looong time and created some of her most iconic costumes and acessories. The last bespoke piece of his I shared with you was the catsuit crystalized with Swarovski Elements she wears with one of her Giorgio Armani costumes.

I believe you don’t need any further hints:

All below costumes were custom made by Perry Meek x Haus of Gaga!

The meat for Gaga’s strapless bodysuit and structured skirt, and brief & crop top ensembles worn by her female dancers for “Americano”, was especially cast out of a material to get the exact look and texture of real meat and each piece was made by Perry with the meat being “pieced” together.

The second costume is the “Black Jesus † Amen Fashion” nude latex bra and skirt ensemble Gaga danced outside her 50 foot tall “The Monster Pit” castle in during the last shows.

The third one, the black gun bra Gaga dons for “Alejandro” with Haus of Gaga military breeches took about a week to make.

“Bloody Mary” white top with oversized shoulder pads and architectural full length skirt are another bespoke creations Perry custom made for The Born This Way Ball Tour.

The last costume by Perry Meek is in fact the first piece from her ever growing TBTWBT costume collection Gaga’s shared with us – her “Piano Dress” featuring a real keyboard!

P.S.
Did you know it takes fifteen 53 foot long tractor trailers to move the castle and the main stage (designed by Mark Fisher and built by renowned production firm Tait Towers) and there are approximately 200 set carts that all of the elements travel in? If all of the set carts were lined up end to end, they would span approximately 1600 feet in length, the equivalent of over 5 football fields!

At least four more chapters coming this week. Stay tuuuned!
