Gagosian Gallery presents a major exhibition of photographs by Inez & Vinoodh (July 12 – August 23, 2013), and the partners in life and work for twenty-five years celebrated the opening with a group of close friends last night.
During the dinner and ARTPOP listening party, hosted by Lady Gaga at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City, Mother Monster premiered the first promo picture from ARTPOP, shot by the renowned Dutch photography duo, and announced the official release dates for her new single and album.
For this very special moment, Gaga wore a very special dress.
Based on the look #18 from Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 “La Dame Bleue” collection, “inspired by extreme glamour as embodied in particular by Isabella Blow“, the one-of-a-kind glossy silver dress was one of four dresses in this style, Lee custom created for Daphne Guinness.
The stunning sculptural piece with padded shoulders and bell shaped skirt, constructed with integrated corset, also featured in Mat Collishaw x Harper’s Bazaar UK photo series (June 2012 issue), was part last of year record-breaking Christie’s Auction of The Daphne Guinness Collection benefiting Isabella Blow Foundation.
Custom made Pleaser Xtreme-1020 ankle boots with lace overlay completed the look.
You may remember Gaga wearing more garments she purchased at the auction, including Christian Dior coat, vintage sequin leopard coat, Alexander McQueen Fall 2011 platform boots, Christian Lacroix Sortie De Ball Opera Coat, Undercover sheer embroidered dress, Adrienne Landau Cerise Silk Velvet Kimono Coat, Azzedine Alaïa cropped faux fur jacket and Alexander McQueen Fall 2008 white hand-embellished gown.
Gaga’s new single will be released on August 19 and her ARTPOP album is coming on November 11. For more details see the official announcement on LadyGaga.com. #CanNotWait
