Lady Gaga is well-known (and loved) for her constant support of young fashion talent. And her latest look consists of four pieces by four upcoming designers!
The first one I gave you all the details about, was her Lily Attwood camouflage dress. Now it’s time to talk about her shoes.
The white Lego Heels, with gray pom-pom laces, were presented on Winde Rienstra Spring 2013 “Ithaka” runway.
The poem Ithaka by C.P. Cavafy is the story of a journey that leads through different cultures but is about finding one’s identity, and in her past season collection, the promising Dutch designer tells her own journey of discovery, applying more than eight old craft techniques, including the old Turkish oya-technique and the romantic dentelle-technique.
Winde, who’s work is situated at the boundaries of fashion, art and architecture, is already known for not being afraid of experimenting with materials that are not conventionally used in fashion design.
Gaga’s wedges are made out of actual white LEGO bricks, fastened together and fixed with knitted laces. The choice for the LEGO bricks was because Winde was “looking for a new, extreme and fun way of creating”.
