Gaga has dominated the MTV EMA in Belfast yesterday night collecting four awards! To accept her Best Video Award for Born This Way, Gaga wore Paco Rabanne Spring 2012 iridescent petrol green organza suit.

I was mesmerized by the high gloss hourglass top with lustrous armour like paillettes chain-mail detail.

Same as the previous looks, this one was also crowned with Philip Treacy headpiece.

Gaga accepted her Best Song Award wearing green metallic paper peplum top with oversized shoulder sculpture with pencil skirt ensemble, matching custom made boots and Philip Treacy headpiece.

When the show got to this point, I was going through Paco Rabanne collection doing my personal bets for the next look. The dress I picked was not the next one.

As promised, let’s review the looks of the queen of the night more in depth!

Look no. 1. Gaga accepted “Best Female” Award dressed in one of the other-worldly flowers looking metallic paper outfits from Paco Rabanne Spring 2012 Femme Lumière collection – the finale number from the runway with giant fine-pleated foil disc collar.

I said flowers because the runway finale creations, homage to Paco Rabanne‘s designs from the late 80′s – early 90′s,…

… seemed to be alive. You could see the silver piece Gaga wore breathing. Moving. Curving in and out. It was definitely living the night Gaga was about to Marry!

Gaga completed the look with matching platform boots and one of the metallic flying saucer hats with cat-eye slits Philip Treacy created for the collection.

Both Paco Rabanne and Manish Arora are known for their show stopping avant-garde meticulously elaborate creations, so it felt such a great match and I was looking forward to the Paco Rabanne Spring 2012 show.

“There are a lot of similarities between Paco Rabanne and my brand, like the craftsmanship,” Manish Arora said back in February during the great fashion news announcement. “We like to work hard, we like to make dresses that take 25 people and 20 days to make and that’s the value of Paco Rabanne that I appreciate and that’s the common factor. The way he made clothes in the sixties was incredible. When I went to the archives, I looked at them and said “OK, this is me”.”

The first Paco Rabanne Prêt-à-Porter collection since 2006 presented during Paris Fashion Week, entitled Femme Lumière, was a pure female body and light devoted science fiction poetry in motion. If you haven’t done so yet, go to Vogue (yes, your magnifying glass is ready) and “read it”.

You’ll find out look no. 15 is the reason I’m writing this love letter right now. This exquisite red iridescent organza dress with sharp shoulders and sequin fringe detailing on the back of the skirt and Philip Treacy for Paco Rabanne metallic flying saucer hat with cat-eye slits.
