Our girl was wearing Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2009 Couture jacket, and leather corset and spat-boots from Fendi Fall 2009 collection.

The jacket… oh that jacket… and the Genie is still missing… Look at this!

I believe both the corset and the spat-boots are from the Fendi Fall 2009 Look 22.

The spat-boots are available in multiple colours and finishes. And me reeeally likey! Hmmm… those red or green ones would look oh so fierce with my multi-colour kaleidoscope-print coat…

Nicola Formichetti has a hell of a magic eye when it comes to talent scouting. The guy isn’t making it easy for those of us who want to know the designers and labels behind each look… But I admire him for that and I looove challenges so I gave it a try. And another one. And another one the day after. And after hours of research a magic keyword helped me to resolve the enigma. 

When I saw her collection I was in awe. You can imagine I immediately wanted to know more.

Yvonne Lau is a London based designer. Westminster graduate 2009. I wasn’t the first one she gave an interview about her graduate “Alphabet” collection. She shared it with me, so you can read more about her on Dazed Digital.

The material she used was “stretchy jersey with a shiny tinsel-like side. Also foam was used in the pieces Lady Gaga wore to create the big, structural shape”.

Before she got her idea sorted, she spent a lot of time trial-and-erroring and experimenting with different shapes and fabrics. And for those who were curious, underneath it all is a silver lycra catsuit.

The words that come to her mind when I say “Lady Gaga style” are “futuristic, robotic, power dressing hot!”… 

…but when I asked her about her favourite Gaga look she was not able to pick one. She told me she loved quite a few, “the Hussein Chalayan inspired bubble dress, many of her padded shoulders outfits. I really love structural and odd but unique designs. The metal, structural Dolce & Gabbana dress is another favourite. The umbrella hat she wore in Japan is fab too. It’s not just her clothes I adore, but her hair, accessories, just her whole style and image”.

Can’t wait to see Yvonna’s next collection. She promised she will keep us informed.
